Networking

As far as the Wi-Fi performance of the TP-Link Ax6000 is concerned, it is important to know that the maximum speed this router can achieve on 5 GHz radio frequency band is 53.9 Gbps, which is incredibly fast. On the other hand, it achieves a higher speed of 47.6 Gbps on the 2.4 GHz radio frequency band. The overall performance, thus, is exceptionally well.

The AX6000 is a sophisticated, modern, and stylish Wi-Fi router that is powered with 1.8 GHz Quadcore processor with 64 Bit 3 coprocessors, which allows the router to handle the highest bandwidth even when there is multitasking. The important to thing remember is that this router does all this with ease because the effectiveness of the AX6000 Wi-Fi router is comparable to none.

Design

The TP-Link AX6000 is a large device. However, the design is simple and easy-to-understand. The design of the router’s body is attractive, for instance, you will find the TP-Link Logo on the top of the router, which has an LED indicator that shows the router status. There are 8 antennas, which add flair to the device and make it more aesthetically appealing.

On the front side of the router, there are 3 buttons whereas on the back you get a lot. There are 2 USB ports on the side of the router. The device has 8 Gigabit Ethernet ports and USB-A and USB-C ports. It is a dual-band device with 2.4 GHz and 5 GHz radio frequency bands.

Since it is a large device, the router looks like a cable box or DVD player. Indeed it is a Wi-Fi router with dimensions 10 x 12 x 4 inches. The weight of the device is 3 pounds. The height of the device is mostly due to the high-performing tall antennas. It is no surprise to tell you that this Wi-Fi router has a distinctive style and top-shelf equipment is making it an 8-stream smart router.

There are 8 smart-stream antennas around the outer edges of the router that are extended upwards. So, it looks like a fortress with towers all around. The TP-Link Archer A6000 is a top-notch, cutting-edge router with aesthetically attractive design.

Moreover, the TP-Link AX6000 has 8 Gigabit Ethernet LAN ports and a 2.5G WAN port. The interesting thing is that even the high-performance ASUS RT-AX88U does not a 2.5G WAN port. This provides high-speed internet connectivity. There is a USB 3.0 port as well as USB Type-A and Type-C port. You can use them to share files on the network.

Hardware

The hardware specifications of the TP-Link Archer A6000 are incredible since it comes with a high-speed Quad-cord CPU of the Broadcom brand. The clock speed of the CPU is 1.8 GHz, which is incredibly fast. The CPU is powered by a powerful 1 GB of RAM, which delivers the best performance. Considering the speed of the CPU and RAM, the router is a flagship gaming router.

The TP-Link Archer AX6000 has 1 GB of Ram for faster transmission speeds. It comes in handy, especially when there are multiple devices connected to the network and demanding high-speed Wi-Fi. Moreover, the hardware specs are supported by the next-generation DOCSIS 3.1 software technology, which provides even more speed available in the network.

Installation

The installation of the TP-Link Archer Ax6000 is simple and easy. You can set up the router from an internet browser or through the TP-link Tether application for Android and iOS. For the installation, it is recommended to use the web browser. You will see the steps involved are the same as for the other TP-Link Wi-Fi routers. Once you are on the installation panel, you need to set up the username and the password to secure the network. We don’t recommend going with the default username and password because the network can be breached easily.

Next, you need to enter the details of the connection, the name of the Wi-Fi, and the password. After installing the device, you will see a summary of the settings and configuration. Save it to restart the router. You are good to go.

Moreover, you can connect the TP-Link Archer A6000 to your cloud account if you want to set up the device remotely or desire to make changes from another place on the internet. Keep in mind that this step is not necessary.

While we tested the cloud connectivity for the router, we found that it has one security issue – i.e. the TP-Link does not offer verification for the cloud account. This is why we suggest users to avoid setting the router via the cloud. It is because there are multiple more devices connected to the cloud. Again, your device can be breached and you can lose data.
